I'm Val White, self-taught artist, dabbling in any media I can get my hands on. I have been lampworking since May 2004.
I'd never even heard of lampworking until I saw a class listed in the offerings of our state crafts center. I have been totally hooked ever since. I think it is because of the immediate reward of creating a bead. Other art forms take hours, days, weeks, but I can explore an idea in a matter minutes, and enjoy the finished results the next day when I remove the beads from the kiln.
I am constantly trying new ideas- some work and some are driveway gravel. But the journey to perfection is part of the fun. Any time I spend learning something new about glass is time well spent.
All my beads are clean and kiln annealed for durability.
